‘Bipolar - Mood Disorders' April 27 at Petoskey

PETOSKEY - A workshop on “Bipolar - Mood Disorders” will be held Thursday, April 27, 4-5:30 p.m. in the Petoskey High School Media Center. The workshop is part of a series of sessions sponsored by area organizations which formed the Child Advocates for Emotional and Mental Health Issues. Marit Vogel, MD, child and adolescent psychiatrist will be presenting.

Dr. Vogel is board certified in both adult and child psychiatry. She sees patients varying in age from toddlers through college age through her practice, Great Lakes Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, in Petoskey.

The Children's Mental Health series is geared toward educators, counselors, nurses and parents. Nursing CEs will be awarded to participating nurses for each session attended. Three State Board CEUs will be awarded to participating educators or counselors attending all sessions.

The workshops are brought to the community by the Child Advocates for Emotional and Mental Health Issues Committee. Workshop contributors include Charlevoix-Emmet Intermediate School District, Great Lakes Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, Northern Michigan Hospital Foundation, Public Schools of Petoskey and Shire US Inc.

At each workshop, presenters will discuss the characteristics of the symptom or condition(s), and offer the audience both local resources and written/Web site resources.

The workshops are free but registration is requested by calling HealthAccess at 800-248-6777.
