To the Editor: Public dollars for restroom sign

To the Editor:
Gaylord has always been a very progressive city (with) an Alpine theme, streetscapes, flowers and trees, park benches, a beautiful chamber of commerce building that houses a Gaylord car, a new covered street to attract people to the downtown and yet we are still woefully behind. We have created “Gaylord's best kept secret.”
In our recent spending many public dollars to provide a new restroom facility for our downtown patrons, we have yet to come up with any proper signing. If you are a stranger or even if you are a native, there are no proper signs to indicate that such a facility exists. True, there is a sign on the building, but where else?
Why can't we put several readable signs on the lampposts at North Court and Main Street to direct people to the restrooms? Or do we not want them used in excess since it might require an additional effort and expense to keep them clean.
A progressive community such as ours can do better.
