Teen conference set this weekend

GAYLORD — A Christian event packed with motivational speaking and activities, the Teen Spectacular Conference is slated for Friday and Saturday in both Bellaire and Boyne City.

The event begins Friday at Shanty Creek Resort in Bellaire with the 8th annual Ski-Tacular, featuring a conference followed by dinner and skiing.

Final group registration takes place at Grace Baptist Church from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., with the conference beginning at 3 at the resort. Dinner will be served at 5, with skiing running from 6 until 10 p.m.

Following up on Saturday is the Teen Spectacular at Boyne City High School, where, in the past, guest speakers have made grand entrances in a helicopter and a stretch Hummer limousine. Speakers include Dr. Jon Jenkins and Pastor Derek Hagland of Grace Baptist Church, Dr. Jack Schaap and Dr. Eddie Lapina of First Baptist Church in Hammond, Ind., and Pastor Mark Bishop of Gospel Light Baptist Church in Heber Springs, Ariz.

The Spectacular also includes fun skits and videos, singing and pizza.

Cost for the two-day event is $47 and includes the conference, dinner and skiing on Friday, and the conference and pizza on Saturday. Cost to attend the Saturday event only is $10.
