Shots fired in Elmira Township

Deputies responded to a complaint Saturday from Frederick Boyce, Gaylord, who reported he had heard shots fired around 10:40 p.m. across the street from his North Townline Road residence.

Investigators reportedly made contact with three juvenile males who had allegedly used a shotgun to kill a raccoon which had been bothering their chickens at a North Townline Road residence.

Reports indicate the juveniles were advised by investigators that they should not be shooting guns at that time of night.

The incident reportedly was closed.

Driver loses front tire on South Otsego Avenue

Theresa Donbrock, 31, Lewiston, was southbound on South Otsego Avenue, just north of McCoy Road, Thursday, around 5:20 p.m. when she reportedly lost the front driver’s side tire of the 1993 Ford she was driving.

Moderate damage was reported to Donbrock’s vehicle and she was not injured.

Drivers at fault for crash

Lisa Lowry, 46, Harrison, was northbound on South Otsego Avenue at Commerce Boulevard, Friday, around 6:35 p.m. when she reportedly struck a 1997 International truck driven by Dean Herron, 43, Lachine, with the 2003 Buick she was driving.

According to reports, Herron was stopped in southbound South Otsego Avenue waiting to make a left turn onto Commerce Boulevard when the traffic light turned yellow.

Reports indicate he then attempted to make his turn and was struck by Lowry’s vehicle as she approached the intersection and attempted to stop.

Moderate damage was reported to both vehicles and neither driver reportedly was injured.

Investigators determined both drivers were at fault for the crash and there were no citations issued.

Rear end crash reported

Marc Stewart, 53, Gaylord, was stopped for a traffic light on northbound South Otsego Avenue at West Main Street, Friday, around 3:20 p.m. when the rear end of the 1999 Jeep he was driving reportedly was struck by the front end of a 2001 Kenworth truck driven by George Hercliff, 51, Clare.

Reports indicate Hercliff observed a vehicle in front of Stewart begin to make a right turn and drove forward, causing minor damage to both vehicles.

Neither driver reportedly was injured and there were no citations issued.

Car-deer crash in Michaywé

Kaylee Booth, 25, Charlevoix, was southbound on Michaywé Drive, three-tenths of a mile south of Opal Lake Road in Otsego Lake Township, Saturday, around 9 p.m. when she reportedly struck a deer with the 2001 Pontiac she was driving.

Booth reportedly was not injured and moderate damage was reported to her vehicle.

Car-deer crash in Antrim County

Bryan Wyllys, 18, Elmira, was eastbound on Mancelona Road, just east of Cinder Hill Road in Antrim County, March 14, around 11 p.m. when a deer reportedly struck the windshield of the 1998 GMC he was driving.

Reports indicate the vehicle’s windshield broke from the impact and after the deer flipped up onto the hood of the vehicle it ran away from the scene.

Moderate damage was reported to Wyllys’ vehicle and he was not injured.
