KCT presents 'Escanaba in da Moonlight'
Saturday, October 20, 2007 12:03 AM EDT

ROSCOMMON — The Kirtland Community Theatre (KCT) is preparing to entertain area residents with its rendition of Jeff Daniels’ hilariously twisted comedy, “Escanaba in da Moonlight,” in a pair of upcoming performances at the Kirtland Center for the Performing Arts and then at the Garland Resort near Lewiston.

In his theatrical comedy, Daniels, an acclaimed actor and writer, tells the tale of five Yoopers, residents of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, and their escapades at a ramshackle deer camp on the eve of the opening day of the 1989 hunting season.

The cast of the community theater production, led by KCPA director Don Wray, includes Jerre Werle as Albert Soady, John Bawol as Reuben Soady, William Campbell as Remnar Soady, Joshua Jurgess as Jimmer Negamanee, James Dunaj as Ranger Tom T. Treado and Michelle Perrow as Wolf Moon Dance.

Shows include one performance at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26 at the KCPA, on the main campus of Kirtland Community College near Roscommon. The cast and crew then will prepare for a second dinner show at Garland on Saturday, Nov. 10.
