Saginaw Valley State University
SAGINAW — The U.S. Achievement Academy has named Matthew Collins of Gaylord a U.S. National Collegiate Award winner in Health and Physical Education, K-12 Teaching, Collins, who attends Saginaw Valley State University, was nominated for this award by Dr. Ann-Catherine Sullivan, a professor at the college.
Collins is the son of Vern and Christina Collins of Gaylord.
The criteria for selection are academic performance, aptitude, leadership qualities, responsibility, enthusiasm, motivation, citizenship, attitude, cooperative spirit, dependability, and a college official’s recommendation.
Madonna University
LIVONIA — Four area students were named to the dean’s list for superior academic achievement during the past term at Madonna University.
Earning at least a 3.25 grade point: Carol Cafuk, Gaylord, social work; Wendi Percha, Gaylord, social work; Jodie Sehl, Waters, social work; and Carl Schaub, Vanderbilt, social work.
Baker College
FLINT — Richard Warden of Gaylord earned an Associate of Applied Science at Baker College Online with completion of the summer quarter in September.
Grand Valley Sate University
GRAND RAPIDS — Several area students were among those named to the dean’s list at Grand Valley State University for the winter semester.
Among them: Kristen Chaulk; Bianca Festian; Troy Hart; Jacki Lampert; Danielle Lynd; Erica Mee; Katrina Miller; Grace Pushman; Ross Scheer and Rachel Werlein.
