JOHANNESBURG — Johannesburg’s Vision of Victory Ranch will be the site of an indoor rodeo this Saturday featuring high school and middle school riders from across Michigan.
Vision of Victory Ranch owners Mary and Steve Tomaski will be hosting the rodeo, which begins at 10 a.m. and features bull riding, saddle bronc, barrel racing and team roping events.
Mary Tomaski said participants will be competing for points at the Michigan High School Rodeo Association- (MHSRA) sponsored event, which qualifies students for scholarship money to attend college.
Tomaski said this year’s MHSRA rodeo queen, 16-year-old Emily Hill from Kalkaska, will be competing at Saturday’s rodeo. Hill, who practiced at the Tomaski’s Ranch this summer for the national rodeo competition, became the first competitor ever to qualify for nationals in all seven events at this year’s MHSRA state finals.
General admission to the rodeo is $5 and free for children younger than 12.
The Vision of Victory Ranch is at 9319 M-32, just west of Johannesburg.
