Personnel from the Otsego County EMS, Otsego County Sheriff’s Department and Gaylord City Police responded to this single-vehicle rollover on Alba Road Friday around 1 p.m. Icy road conditions were reported on several secondary roads.

Intoxicated driver hits delivery truck

• Ronald Himebauch, 53, of East Jordan, was driving a Herald Times delivery truck westbound on M-32 near West Martin Lake Road in Elmira Township, Tuesday, around 10:20 p.m. when a 21-year-old Johannesburg woman, traveling eastbound on M-32, reportedly crossed the centerline and collided partially head on with the truck.

The female driver reportedly was trapped in her vehicle and extricated by Otsego County Heavy Rescue Unit.

Himebauch was checked out by Elmira-Warner EMS personnel and released without injury.

The female driver was transported to Otsego Memorial Hospital by Otsego County EMS where she was treated for minor cuts and bruises. She was released and arrested for allegedly operating while intoxicated, and lodged in Otsego County Jail.

No arraignment information was available.

Driver hits utility pole with pickup

• Andrew Kocur, 43, of Johannesburg, was westbound on McCoy Road, just west of M-32 in Chester Township, Tuesday, around 7:34 a.m. when he reportedly lost control of the 2006 Dodge pickup he was driving.

Reports indicate the road was covered with black ice and Kocur’s vehicle left the south side of the roadway and struck a utility pole, snapping it in half.

Kocur reportedly was not injured and his vehicle sustained extensive damage. He was cited for hazardous driving — speed too fast for conditions.

Driver loses control on icy overpass

• Laura Derenzy, 37, of Gaylord, was eastbound on Marlette Road at I-75 in Otsego Lake Township, Nov. 15, around 7 p.m. when she reportedly lost control of the 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer she was driving.

According to reports, Derenzy’s vehicle experienced minor damage when she struck the bridge railing on the overpass. Reports indicate the roads were very slippery at the time of the accident.

Derenzy was reportedly not injured.

Gaylord City Police

Citation issued in crash

• Michael Meines, 30, of Gaylord, was eastbound on West Main Street at the I-75 overpass, Tuesday, around 3:15 p.m. when the rear end of the 2007 GMC van he was driving reportedly was struck by the front end of a 1986 Cadillac driven by Brett Hilleary, 20, of Lewiston.

No injuries were reported. Minor damage was reported to both vehicles.

Hilleary was cited for hazardous driving — violation of basic speed laws.

Rear-end crash on West Main Street

• Benny Kucharek, 75, of Gaylord, was eastbound on West Main Street at Dickerson Road, Tuesday, around 10:30 a.m. when the rear end of the 2007 Chrysler van he was driving reportedly was struck by the front end of a1994 Dodge van driven by Kenneth Matelski, 56, of Gaylord.

According to reports, both vehicles had stopped for a red light. When Meines proceeded into the intersection after the light turned green, he stopped for an approaching ambulance and was struck by Matelski, who couldn’t stop in time.

No injuries were reported. Minor damage was reported to both vehicles.

No citations were issued.

Car deer accident

    • Orville Theaker, 63, of Wolverine, was southbound on Trowbridge Ridge just north of Lance Lake Road in Cheboygan County,Nov. 17 around 9:30 p.m. when, according to Michigan State Police reports, he struck a deer on the roadway.

    The collision caused minor damage to the driver’s side front of the 1997 Buick Park Avenue.

    No citations were issued and no injuries were reported.

Driver rolls vehicle on icy road

• Charles Rose, 22, of Brimley, was southbound on I-75 just east of M-32 in Bagley Township, Nov. 15 around 6:15 p.m. when he reportedly lost control and rolled his 1999 Dodge Dakota, resulting in severe damage to the vehicle.

Reports indicate the roads were very slippery at the time of the accident.

Rose was cited for hazardous driving — speed too fast. No injuries were reported.

Deer strikes van

    • Kevin James Porter, 23, of Laurium, was southbound on I-75 just north of Hebron Town Hall Road in Cheboygan County, Wednesday around 11:30 p.m. when a deer reportedly attempted to cross the roadway, striking his 1994 Plymouth van. The collision resulted in minor damage to the driver’s side front of the vehicle.

    No citations were issued and no injuries were reported.
