ROSCOMMON — Music lovers will have a chance to enjoy gypsy jazz, as the Kirtland Center for the Performing Arts presents the John Jorgenson Quintet Saturday, Feb. 16 at 8 p.m.

The John Jorgenson Quintet features guitarist John Jorgenson, a founding member of the Desert Rose Band, the Hellecasters and a six-year member of Elton John’s band. Artists ranging from Barbra Streisand to Bonnie Raitt to Earl Scruggs have sought out Jorgenson’s guitar work. Recently, he was chosen to portray “Django Reinhardt” in the feature film “Head in the Clouds.”

As a guitarist, Jorgenson’s work has been described as “dazzling,” and he is a master clarinet player and vocalist.Whether playing his own compositions or classic standards, Jorgenson and his band make music that is equally romantic and ecstatic, played with virtuosity and soul, say promoters.

Tickets for the performance are $24 and $22 and may be purchased online or by calling the KCPA Ticket Office at 989-275-6777. Senior, student, group and family discounts are available.
