Saturday, March 1, 2008 12:07 AM EST

STERLING HEIGHTS — Gaylord senior Jordan Peters has qualified for the bowling state finals for the second consecutive year.

Peters, who finished seventh at last week’s regional in Muskegon, will travel to Sterling Heights today for the finals.

“I’ve made my goal for the year on getting to states again,” Peters said. “I have a 299 game under my belt and hope to be able to get a 300 game during states.”

Peters will be assisted on the trip by his coach, Beth Brown.

He plans on attending Saginaw Valley State University, where he will tryout for the Cardinals’ bowling team.

The Gaylord girls singles team barely missed a trip to the finals, finishing fourth among 18 teams. The top three teams moved onto the state competition.

The Blue Devils wanted to thank their coaches for their dedication to the improvement of their game.
