Snocross riders impress at nationals

LAKE GENEAVA, WISC. — A pair of Northern Michigan youngsters proved themselves among the best in the nation in Snocross recently.
Carson Alread of Gaylord and Cora Hauger of Boyne City recently placed in the top three at the World Power Sports Association National Affiliate final at Lake Geneava, Wisc.
Alread and Hauger competed against the nation’s top six and seven-year old riders. Both had to qualify in order to compete.
Alread placed first in his heat race and second in the final while Hauger came back from going off the track in the heat race to take third overall. Hauger’s father, Joey, also competed in the national event taking fourth in the plus-25 category.
Alread, son of Kevin and Jill Alread, is sponsored by Smoothies Speed Shop of Gaylord while Hauger, the daughter of Carrie Bricker-Hauger and Joseph Hauger, is sponsored by Hauger Forest Products and Above All Construction.
