GAYLORD — Two board seats were filled Tuesday as Cathy O’Connor retained her seat on the Gaylord Community Schools (GCS) Board of Education and Michael Stachnik was elected to replace board president Linda Davis who chose not to seek re-election.
O’Connor received 469 votes, Stachnik 178 and Ernest Grocock finished third with 102 votes.
The two, four-year board seats were the only issue on Tuesday’s ballot in which 546 voters turned out to vote in the district’s 10 precincts.
Voter turnout was heaviest in the city of Gaylord with 216 people turning out to vote.
