William O. Moulton

Mr. William O. Moulton, age 89, of Gaylord, died Friday, May 23, 2008 at Tendercare.

Mr. Moulton was born in Wilmot on July 28, 1918. He graduated from Central Michigan University where he lettered in four sports, football, basketball, baseball and track.

He worked as a petroleum representative for Total Petroleum, retiring at the age of 62.

He served in the United States Navy as a First Lieutenant during World War II.

Mr. Moulton was a member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. He was very involved in the building of the church and its renovations and served on the finance committee.
His great passion in life was golf. He was a member of the Gaylord Country Club and was instrumental in the development of the club’s current location. He served twice as president and was recipient of the club’s Jim Johnson Award.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at 1 p.m. from St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Gaylord, Rev. Gerald Rehagen officiating.

Visitation will be held Monday, 2-8 p.m., at the Nelson Funeral Home, and Tuesday at the church from noon until the time of services.

Mr. Moulton is survived by his son, Bruce (Diane) Moulton of Gaylord; three grandchildren, Theresa (Brian) Ross, Kerri (Wally) Sokoloski and Shawna (Ryder) Underwood; great-grandchildren, Joseph, Rebecca, Emma, Rylee, Colby and Lilly; and two nephews, Ed (Barb) & Max (Mary) Curtis. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois; a sister, Maxine Curtis; and a nephew.
