Mrs. Jean M. "Jeaner" Arthurs, age 83, of Cedarville and formerly of Gaylord, passed away July 14, 2008 on her birthday. She was born July 14, 1925 in Detroit to Carrie and Irving Barr.

Jeaner and Joe (her late husband) moved to Gaylord in 1957. They were the founders of Arthurs Auto Parts and Sales. She was also involved in the Gaylord community for many years, dating back to the AuSable Lodge days and Otsego Lake Waterski Club. She loved living on the water, either on Otsego Lake or throughout northern Lake Huron, from Cedarville to the North Channel.

She is survived by her two sons, Robert (Jayne) of Cedarville and Thomas (Jody) of Gaylord; five grandchildren, Stephanie (Ken) Fait of Costa Mesa, Calif., Joseph Arthurs of Steamboat, Colo., Timothy Arthurs of Breckenridge, Colo., Carrie (Matt) Prater of Traverse City and Carly Joy Arthurs of Jackson, Wyo.; and three great-grandchildren, Presley, Riley and Mack Fait.

Her family and friends wish to extend special and loving thanks to the staff at Tendercare in Sault Ste. Marie.
