Esther A. Crawley

Esther A. Crawley, age 92, of Gaylord, died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, at McReynolds Hall. She was born in Minnesota on Jan. 13, 1916, the daughter of Isadore and Eva (Stoltz) Ries.
She had lived in Gaylord since 1966. She was a member of St. Mary Cathedral and Altar Rosary Society, and was active with RSVP. She retired having worked as a licensed practical nurse for the state home. Esther was a care giver all her life.
Esther is survived by her children, Lawrence (Judy) Crawley of Fenton, DeEtta (Scott) Beebe-Gilland of Waters, Dennis Crawley of Vanderbilt, Edward Crawley of Bellaire, Cathy (Karl) Vroman of Wolverine and Thomas Crawley of Gaylord. Also surviving are her sister, Helen (Steve) Strekall of Montanna; 13 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene; and her sisters, Leola Salansky and DeEtta Bressler.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008 from St. Mary Cathedral, Rev. Fr. John McCracken officiating. Visitation from the Nelson Funeral Home will take place on Friday, Aug. 22 from 4 to 8 p.m., and Saturday at the church beginning at 9 a.m. A parish rosary will be offered on Friday at 7 p.m.
