Suspect arrested

in attempted B&E

• Officers responded to Gobblers restaurant on South Otsego Avenue, Oct. 1, around 1:30 for a reported breaking and entering.

According to reports, a male subject entered the restaurant and was observed by an employee looking through a display case. The employee reportedly walked the subject outside where a second male was waiting.

The two male subjects allegedly fled the scene on foot and were found by officers in the Kmart parking lot. When officers attempted to arrest the first subject, identified as Derik Lewis, 17, Gaylord, he reportedly fled and police gave chase. Lewis was caught on Commerce Boulevard, physically restrained, arrested and transported to the Otsego County Jail.

The second subject, identified as Adam Church, 18, Gaylord, was arrested on a charge of minor in possession of alcohol.

Lewis was charged with breaking and entering a building with intent, police officer assaulting/resisting/obstructing, and minor in possession.

• Officers responded to a complaint of a larceny from a vehicle at the Otsego Memorial Hospital parking lot, Oct. 3 around 7 p.m.

Witnesses reportedly saw a male subject riding a bicycle who attempted to break into a vehicle at the parking lot and one victim allegedly told officers their truck had been broken into and money was missing.

After receiving a description of the bicycle-riding suspect, investigators reportedly located the individual riding on North Ohio Avenue. While talking to the subject, a second male subject, riding a bicycle, approached officers.

The two suspects reportedly fled the scene and officers responded to a second complaint of larcenies from vehicles at the St. Mary Cathedral parking lot.

Acting on a tip, the suspects, identified as Jamee Schiellerd, 17, Gaylord and Kurtice Erving, 18, Gaylord, were located, interviewed and arrested on charges of breaking and entering a vehicle. Schiellerd also was charged with police officer assaulting/resisting/obstructing and minor in possession of alcohol.

• Autumn Lyvere, 25, Gaylord, was eastbound on West Main Street at South Wisconsin Avenue, Oct. 3, around noon, when Salvatore Didorosi, 59, Johannesburg, reportedly walked into the passenger side of the 1999 Chevrolet Lyvere was driving.

Reports indicate Lyvere had the green light as she entered the intersection and Didorosi stepped into the roadway.

Didorosi reportedly sustained minor injuries and was examined at the scene by the Otsego County EMS/Rescue.

Lyvere received a citation for operating without security.

Rear-end crash

on West Main Street

• Jamie Thomas, 28, Gaylord, was making a right turn into a private drive from westbound West Main Street near Indiana Avenue, Friday, around 7:20 a.m. when the rear end of the 1997 Plymouth Breeze she was driving was reportedly struck by the front end of a 2007 Chevrolet HHR driven by Martin Elliott, 48, Gaylord.

There were no injuries and minor damage was reported to both vehicles.

Elliott was cited for hazardous driving.

Al’s Market break-in

• Two suspects were charged with breaking and entering after they allegedly broke into Al’s Market in Bagley Township early Tuesday morning and stole cash, alcohol and cigarettes.

According to reports, a newspaper delivery person had found the front entrance to the store open with the glass broken out. Troopers began an investigation and while following up on investigative leads received an anonymous tip leading to two suspects: Derek Mullins, 17, Gaylord, and Jacob Hall, 18, Gaylord.

The two men allegedly confessed to the break-in and investigators recovered approximately $600 in cash, bottles of alcohol and packs of cigarettes valued at around $1,500.

The pair were arrested Wednesday and lodged in the Otsego County Jail and arraigned in 87th District Court Thursday. Both men were charged with one count each of breaking and entering with intent, stolen property receiving and concealing $1,000-$20,000. Mullins also was charged with one count of larceny in a building and malicious destruction of property. Mullins remains lodged and Hall is free on a personal recognizance bond while both await their next court dates.

• Troopers are investigating a breaking and entering complaint at Mountain Lake Golf Club on Opal Lake Road in Bagley Township which occurred Wednesday, around 10 p.m.

Club management is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in the reported breaking and entering.

Car-deer crash

on Old 27

• Douglas Snapp, 53, Gaylord, was northbound on Old 27, just north of Matelski Road in Livingston Township, Oct. 2, around 7:20 p.m. when several deer reportedly entered the roadway in front of the 2000 GMC Sierra pickup he was driving.

According to reports, Snapp’s vehicle sustained moderate damage when he struck one of the deer. He was reportedly not injured.

• Esther Goff, 74, Vanderbilt, was eastbound on Whitmarsh Road, one-quarter mile east of Nowak Road in Livingston Township, Monday, around 3:45 p.m. when a deer reportedly ran into the driver’s side of the 2002 Buick she was driving.

Goff was not injured and her vehicle reportedly sustained extensive damage.

Driver arrested for

possession of drugs

• Deputies  stopped a vehicle in Grayling Monday, around 11:53 p.m. and during the course of their  investigation reportedly located a large quantity of Ecstasy pills inside the vehicle which led to the arrest of a 21-year-old male.

The seized drugs reportedly had a street value of around $820.

The Grayling City Police and STING Narcotics Team assisted in the investigation.

The suspect’s name is being held pending arraignment.
