To the Editor:

It has come to our attention that campaign yard signs on private property in Otsego County have been removed by unknown third parties.

We are both enthusiastic about all of the candidates of our respective parties and agree that voters should make their decision this election based on the merits of the candidates.

We should all respect the property rights of our fellow citizens and the decision of every person to place a yard sign or not. The hard work of the candidates to get the word out should be respected.

We hope this practice will stop and, of course, we urge everyone to vote on Nov. 4, 2008.
