Michigan State Police: Driver cited in I-75 rollover crash
Jason Hofer, 22, Menominee, was southbound on I-75, three-fourths of a mile south of Winters Road in Livingston Township, Monday, around 10:10 a.m. when he lost control of the 2003 Ford Explorer he was driving while attempting to change lanes on a slush- and snow-covered roadway.
Hofer’s vehicle reportedly spun sideways, left the roadway and rolled over in the median.
Hofer was not injured and extensive damage was reported to his vehicle.
Hofer was cited for hazardous driving -- violation of basic speed laws.
Verbal warning issued in rollover crash
James Young, 57, Carsonville, was southbound on I-75, one-mile north of Parmater Road in Livingston Township, Monday, around 5:15 p.m. when he reportedly lost control of the 2004 Ford F-150 pickup he was driving.
Reports indicate Young’s vehicle and the trailer he was pulling entered the median and rolled over. Extensive damage was reported to Young’s vehicle.
Young was not injured and his passenger, Leslie Kraft, 72, Marlette, reportedly sustained minor injuries.
Young received a verbal warning for violation of basic speed laws.
Moderate damage to vehicle after driver hits trees
Donald Simms, 46, Vanderbilt, was northbound on Old Vanderbilt Road, south of Fontinallis Road in Corwith Township, Tuesday, around 2:15 p.m. when he reportedly lost control of the 2005 Chevrolet he was driving.
Reports indicate Simms’ vehicle drove off the iced-over roadway at a curve and struck several trees.
Simms was not injured and his vehicle sustained moderate damage.
Minor damage in crash
Jane Miller, 60, Waters, was northbound on Old 27, one-tenth of a mile north of Kelly Street in Otsego Lake Township, Nov. 10, around 7:30 a.m. when the 2006 Buick she was driving reportedly ran off the roadway after hitting a large patch of snow and slush in the road.
Minor damage was reported to Miller’s vehicle and she was not injured.
Car-deer crash reported
James Riethmeier, 39, Wolverine, was driving a 2007 GMC truck southbound on M-32, one-quarter mile north of Finnegan Road in Charlton Township, Nov. 13, around 10:15 p.m. when he reportedly struck a deer which had run into the path of his vehicle.
Riethmeier was not injured and his vehicle sustained minor damage.
Citation issued in 2-vehicle crash
Gary Norton, 62, Gaylord, was northbound on West Otsego Lake Drive at Old Alba Road in Bagley Township, Monday, around 8:50 a.m. when a 2004 Honda Civic driven by Elaine O’Neill, 20, Elmira, reportedly struck the driver’s side of the 1998 Chevrolet pickup Norton was driving.
O’Neill, who was eastbound on Old Alba Road, reportedly slid into the intersection when she attempted to stop on the snow-covered roadway.
Moderate damage was reported to both vehicles and there were no injuries.
O’Neill was cited for hazardous driving — violation of basic speed laws.
Car-deer crash on Mancelona Road
Scott Ellison, 45, Gaylord, was eastbound on Mancelona Road, one-mile west of Lynn Lake Road in Hayes Township, Tuesday, around 11:50 a.m. when he reportedly struck a deer with the 2006 Chevrolet pickup he was driving.
Minor damage was reported to Ellison’s vehicle and he was not injured.
Otsego County Sheriff’s Dept.: Extensive damage in 2-vehicle crash
Patrick Kelly, 55, Traverse City, was stopped on northbound Gingell Road at M-32 in Charlton Township, Nov. 14, around 2:28 p.m. when a 1998 Ford F-150 pickup driven by Jesse Mench, 19, Gaylord, struck the 1999 Toyota Kelly was driving.
The impact from the crash, which caused extensive damage to both vehicles, reportedly pushed Kelly’s vehicle across M-32.
Both drivers were transported to Otsego Memorial Hospital by Otsego County EMS/Rescue and treated and released.
Kelly, who allegedly stated he had fallen asleep, was cited for reckless driving.
Rollover accident in Corwith Township
Craig Bergeron, 19, Farmington Hills, was driving a 2001 Ford F-150 pickup eastbound on Sturgeon Valley Road, one-half mile east of Fontinallis Road in Corwith Township, Sunday, around 11:35 a.m. when an oncoming unknown vehicle reportedly crossed the centerline causing Bergeron to move to the shoulder of the road.
Bergeron then reportedly lost control of his vehicle, spun sideways and rolled over on the north side of the roadway.
Bergeron was not injured and his vehicle sustained extensive damage.
No citations were issued.
Rollover crash on I-75
Liam Sculliion, 25, Marquette, was northbound on I-75, two miles north of Marlette Road in Otsego Lake Township, Sunday, around 8:14 a.m. when he lost control of the 1999 Oldsmobile Cutlass he was driving.
Reports indicate Scullion’s vehicle drove off the west side of the snow- and slush-covered roadway and rolled over.
Extensive damage was reported to Scullion’s vehicle and he was not injured.
No citations were issued.
Extensive damage in rollover crash
• Scott Hunter, 33, Macomb Township, was southbound on I-75, one-half mile north of Parmater Road in Livingston Township, Sunday, around 9:20 a.m. when he reportedly lost control of the 2007 Dodge Ram pickup he was driving.
Hunter’s vehicle reportedly left the east side of the roadway and rolled over coming to rest on its side.
Hunter was not injured and extensive damage was reported to his vehicle.
No citations were issued.
Citation issued in rollover crash
Kyle Broderick, 18, Vanderbilt, was westbound on Lake Manuka Road, one-quarter mile east of Lake Court Road in Hayes Township, Monday, around 8:05 p.m. when he lost control of the 1992 Buick he was driving at a curve in the roadway.
Broderick’s vehicle reportedly sustained moderate damage when he drove off the roadway and rolled over in a ditch.
Broderick was not injured and he was cited for hazardous driving -- speed too fast for conditions.
Gaylord City Police: Citation issued in rear-end crash
Clifford Tate, 61, Grayling, was stopped on northbound South Otsego Avenue at McCoy Road, Tuesday, around 12:55 p.m. when the rear end of the 2003 Ford Ranger pickup he was driving was reportedly struck from behind by a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Cathy Lulfs, 52, Mancelona.
Minor damage was reported to both vehicles and there were no injuries.
Lulfs was cited for hazardous driving -- unable to stop within an assured clear distance.
