Scholarship money for ag-related majors

OTSEGO COUNTY -- The Edelweiss Garden Club is offering one $750 scholarship to a college junior or senior currently attending a Michigan school of higher learning who graduated from an Otsego County high school -- public, private or parochial. The scholarship is for one year.

Applicants must be majoring in one of the following fields of study; agriculture education, horticulture, floriculture, landscape design, golf course management, botany, biology, plant pathology/science, forestry, agronomy, environmental concerns, environmental conservation, city (rural and urban) planning, wildlife science, habitat or forest/systems ecology, land management. The scholarship committee must grant approval for majors other than the ones listed.

Scholarship recipients will be chosen on the basis of educational excellence, awards or achievements, character, initiative and experience and financial need.

The scholarship will be paid to the finance office of the recipient’s educational institution in early July.
