Karl J. Heidman Sr., age 81, of Gaylord, died Monday, June 29, 2009 at Tendercare. Karl was born Feb. 13, 1928 in Navarre, Ohio, the son of Otto and Ruth (Lemon) Heidman. He spent his childhood years in Ohio and then joined the United States Army, serving during World War II.

Karl liked to watch wrestling and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Katheryn; children, Rick (Sonya), Roger, Sherry (Herb), David (Misty), Karl Jr. (Lisa), Kristine (Dan) Minor; 22 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren including Dayton and Liam.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
